Lowell Transitional Living Center

The Lowell Transitional Living Center provides the most vulnerable adults in our community with food, shelter, stability and dignity.  They provide programs and services that meet immediate needs for emergency shelter and food, along with case management and other help that enable those we serve to make the transition from a shelter bed to a permanent place to call home.”

Mission: Our church provides financial assistance, food in-gatherings and clothing donations.

St. Paul’s Meals

Mission:  WCUMC members volunteer once a month, on the 4th Wednesday to help provide and serve a meal to those in need.

The Open Pantry of Greater Lowell

“The mission of The Open Pantry is to relieve hunger in our community.  They aim to connect people to a variety of filling, nutritious, and culturally-appropriate food as well as to other community resources; to advocate on behalf of those in need locally, statewide, and nationally; and to engage with others in building food security.”

THOSE THEY SERVE:

They provide short-term food assistance to those in need who reside in the Greater Lowell area.  The reasons for need are numerous, but for many persons it is a choice between food and heat or medications; it may be a delayed or stolen check or it could be an abandoned person who has no other means.  While the reasons are varied,
the needs are real.

  • Over 1,500 people are served each month.
  • More than 1/3 of those we help are children.
  • Assistance is offered to individuals and families without any discrimination based on race, creed, or country of origin

As a church we provide financial assistance as well as food ingathering for the Open pantry. This year Missions created the Chris Buretta Memorial Fund which donated money in her honor.

 UMASS Lowell Campus Ministry:

Mission:  To provide ministry services for UMASS Lowell student population.  To also provide spiritual counseling and support for students who are often away from home and in need of guidance.
