ABOUT THE PROGRAM

General Procedures / Check In - Check Out
For the safety of our children, please remain outside the classrooms. Children in Kindergarten or younger must be signed in and out by a parent. Also, children fourth grade and younger need to be escorted to and from class. Please pick up your children promptly after class!

Registration
Parents are required to fill out a registration form for each child. These forms are located outside the classrooms and in the Children's Ministry Office (Asbury Campus, Room #8 of the Education Building).

Promotion
Children move to new Sunday School classes on Promotion Sunday, the Sunday before St. Tammany Parish Public School's first day of class. During the summer months, children remain in the class just completed. To maintain consistency in our Sunday School classes, children who turn two years of age after the cut off date remain in the Nursery until the next Nursery promotion date is announced.

SUNDAY MORNINGS

The nursery consists of 4 areas: noncrawlers, crawlers, walkers, and potty-trained.

Preschoolers at 9:45
Children are placed in a hands-on, interactive learning environment that is completely child-friendly and child-focused. There are two classes of 3 yr. olds and two classes of 4 year olds during the 9:45 service. They meet in the Education Building.

Elementary and Middle School at 9:45
K - 5th grade students meet in a different learning center each week where they are taught Bible stories through Cokesbury's "PowerXpress" Rotation Model. One Bible theme is taught for approximately four weeks. Children rotate to a new "station" each week, experiencing the story in one of our four learning environments. All go to the foyer of the Family Life Center each week to see what room they are in, because their room may change.

6th Grade at 9:45
Meeting in “The Driveway,” Rooms 111 and 112 in the Family Life Center, this awesome group of preteens works together all year discussing current issues and Biblical truths that are relevant to their lives. An 8-week Confirmation Class is held in the spring.

The Children’s Music Ministry of St. Timothy on the Northshore United Methodist Church is an expression of our love for all of God’s children and our desire that each be nurtured in the Christian faith. Participation in children’s choir teaches skills of worship participation and leadership while providing a strong support of each child’s growth as a young Christian. Activities include singing, games, stories and other fun activities.
