Registration and Guidelines for
Year Round, School Schedule, and Summer Sessions
 
DEFINITIONS OF TERMS:
  
Year Round - this designates children who were formerly known as "full time students".  Children are enrolled for a particular schedule on a year round basis.  Our year runs June - May.  Tuition is charged on a weekly basis. 
 
All infants (starts at 6 weeks), toddlers, and twos must enroll on a Year Round schedule. Vacancies are filled as they occur all during the year in these two classes.
 
This option is also available for children ages 3 years through 5 years.  Children ages 3-5 may have the option of reducing their schedule during the summer session (2 days per week minimum is required), and then must resume their customary schedule.
 
School Schedule - this designates children who were formerly known as "part time students".  This schedule follows the Sumner County school schedule(this includes out for snow days).  Tuition is charged on a monthly basis.
     
Summer Program - Runs for a designated period during the summer. School Schedule children can be enrolled in this program; Year Round children are already part of the program. A one time tuition fee is charged for the entire program, and is due in May before the summer session begins.

2016 School Schedule Begins;  Monday, August 8th 
 
 
REGISTRATION FEES 
Summer Session: $40 per child
 (Maximum Family Fee $80 per Summer Session)
 
School Schedule: $35 per child for each session
( Maximum Family Fee $70 per Summer Session)
 
Year Round Session:  $75 per child
                   
 Materials Fee: $35 is billed in September for all children enrolled at that time.
                                    
  
 
CHILDREN FIRST GUIDELINES FOR REGISTRATION
 
Waiting List:  When a parent calls the office to put his/her child on the waiting list, that parent is requested to come by the center for a tour of the facility. He/she will be asked to fill out a waiting list form and to pay a $25 non-refundable administrative fee. The child's name will then be placed on one of two waiting lists - HFUMC  Members and Community Members. 
 
HFUMC  Members - This Waiting List, for both Year Round and School Schedule children, is kept in order by the date the parent(s) put the child on the Waiting List. 
 
Community Members - This Waiting List, for both Year Round and School Schedule children, is kept in order by the date the parent(s) put the child on the Waiting List. 
 
January 1 - January 31 - During this period of each year, families whose child(ren) are on a waiting list will need to contact the Children First office and re-affirm their child's place on the waiting list.
 
Registration: Children First Registration will be held once a year beginning in February for the Summer Session that starts in June and the School Schedule that starts in August. The Children First  Board decides on the dates of registration. 
 
Parents will be informed of dates and material regarding registration via the HFUMC Newsletter, Children First Newsletter, the Children First Web Page, and/or Children First information flyers.
 
Tuition Fees must be current in order to register. 
Registration Forms will not be given out before the designated time of registration. 
 
 
 PRIORITY FOR REGISTRATION:
 
First - Year Round and School Schedule children of Children First Staff Members and Hendersonville First United Methodist Church Staff Members
Second - Year Round children  (HFUMC Members and Community members) presently enrolled in Children First
Third - School Schedule and Summer Program children of HFUMC members presently enrolled in Children First
Fourth - Children of HFUMC members not enrolled in Children First.
Fifth - School Schedule children of Community members presently enrolled in Children First
Sixth - Children who are not presently enrolled (this would include children on the Community Member Waiting List).
