A.I.I.D.M: Adults Involved In Disaster Missions
THE PURPOSE OF ADULTS INVOLVED IN DISASTER MISSIONS:
To establish a working relationship between First Baptist Church, Paris, the Brotherhood Commission of the Southern Baptist Convention and the American Red Cross in preparing for and providing disaster relief.
DEFINITION OF DISASTER:
A disaster is an occurrence such as a hurricane, tornado, storm, flood, high water, wind driven water, tidal wave, earthquake, drought, blizzard, pestilence, famine, fire, explosion, volcanic eruption, building collapse, commercial transportation wreck, or other situation that causes human suffering or creates human needs that the victims can not alleviate
without assistance.
DISASTER MINISTRY FIELDS OF SERVICE:
First Baptist Church has a Skills & Talents Survey which lists 38 categories which identifies areas of service. Also listing equipment and or facilities, which you have that may be used or any disaster. You can help those in need by joining the A.I.I.D.M. team.
TIME COMMITMENT FOR THIS MINISTRY:
Whereas, disasters do not give an warning, for the most part, the timing is dictated by the disaster. The need has been said to be ASAP (as soon as possible). The need for people is right after the disaster occurs.
