About Us

Purpose
Our purpose at St.Timothy Preschool is to offer a Christian atmosphere and to provide opportunities that meet the educational needs of the early childhood years. Through a warm accepting climate and an enriching program, we hope to give your child a natural step from home to school.

Qualified teachers provide an educational program that considers the developmental needs of the child and encourages growth in all areas (physical, emotional, mental and spiritual) as a continuous interrelated process. We believe that the teaching methods and techniques used to achieve these goals must be based on a proper understanding of child development and emphasize the importance of fostering good relationships to promote healthy attitudes.

Finally, we recognize the value of play for the young child and believe it to be the language of children and the foundation of a good preschool.

Objectives
The objectives listed below are those we strive to accomplish with children. We must all recognize that every child is a unique individual who develops at his/her own pace. It is important for the staff and parents to realize that children learn skills at varying times. No pressure will be applied to young children to learn outside their developmental capabilities.

Emotional and Social Growth
  1. To learn to be polite.
  2. To learn to be considerate of others.
  3. To learn to share.
  4. To learn to play harmoniously with others.
  5. To appreciate achievements of self and others.
  6. To develop self control.
  7. To learn to channel emotions properly.
  8. To help in developing a strong self esteem.
Spiritual Growth
  1. To learn to show God's love through Christian behavior and attitudes.
  2. To learn and use prayers of thanks for God's many blessings.
Discrimination Policy
The school does not discriminate against race, creed, color, sex, national origin, handicapping conditions or ancestry. Enrollment preference will be given to returning students, siblings of enrollees, members of St. Timothy United Methodist Church.
